Re:Make 2023 - Pallet Cleanser
As a region in recovery, we are all in need of a lift, and as an artist invitational and platform to transform, upcycle and inspire, we would like to challenge Hawke’s Bay artists to artistically remake the humble, ubiquitous, and often publicly discarded pallet.
Here is an opportunity to sharpen both your palette and palates and offer up a visual taste to repurpose something which is often disposed of, unsightly and ignored. Pine for a change – environmental, personal, artistic, or material.
With this brief in mind, there are two categories – wall pieces to be hung, and free-standing sculptural floor pieces. Artists may submit one of either, or both, with a limit of two submissions per artist. Depending on the amount of total submissions, space constraints may mean that not all submissions will be exhibited.
There will be an opening event on Tuesday September 19th at 5:30pm, with a judging panel awarding cash prizes to the best sculptural and wall works.
