Elton Gregory
I’m a commercial Illustrator, Graphic Designer and artist, now based and working from my studio in the Wairarapa. I have a degree in Graphic Design from Victoria University, where I majored in Illustration. I work in a variety of styles and in the past collage has been my primary focus for personal work. This current style I have been exploring through a series of charcoal sketches are a combination of intricate realism and fantasy where I metamorphosise and change the form of flowers into completely different species.

Connection to Roy: Roy was my teacher at HNHS from 1990 to 94, and a great positive influence. Mr Dunningham was a brilliant teacher, who helped and influenced me greatly. His classes were a welcome reprieve into a particularly hard time going through grief with the loss of my mother at 14, I found that my expression through art helped a lot in my healing.
Thank you Roy, for your kind words and excellent teaching while providing a safe place to learn to express myself. I’d say if it wasn’t for Roy I may never have known my potential.
