The Famous Spiegeltent is coming to Hawke’s Bay

It is with great excitement that we can announce that the inaugural Hawke’s Bay Arts Festival will be taking place in Havelock North, Hastings from the 27th October through to the 8th November 2015.
The Festival’s venue, the Famous Spiegeltent will have an offering of world-class entertainment from international and local performers set within a venue worthy of its own show. The Famous Spiegeltent built in 1920, has spent her lifetime at festivals and fairgrounds throughout Europe and beyond.
There are only a handful of these unique ‘tents of mirrors’ left in the World today. Built of wood, mirrors, canvas and detailed in velvet and brocade, each has its own personality and style.
Festival Director, Pitsch Leiser says;
“An Arts Festival in our region is long overdue and we are honoured and excited to secure such a legendary venue to host the inaugural festival. We will feature a fantastic programme of dance, music, circus, cabaret, theatre and a literary series. A programme that will be sure to tantalise both the seasoned festival goer and those new to the arts”
“The Hawke’s Bay Arts Festival will be taking place thanks to the generous support of the Hastings District and Napier City Councils, Creative New Zealand and corporate sponsors, trusts and foundations. Our aim is to provide an annual festival to ensure that we maintain the level of arts offerings for the people of Hawke’s Bay. ”
Tickets for the Festival will go on sale from early September and will be available to purchase via the Festival website www.hbaf.co.nz
