Christmas Art and Craft Bazaar

The Hawke’s Bay Arts and Crafts Christmas Bazaar makes discovering that distinctive and quality gift that much easier.

Hosted every year throughout December at the Hastings Community Centre, shoppers can expect to find unique and innovative gifts ranging from handmade Christmas decorations to jewellery, sewing, knitting, felting, pottery, wood, mosaics, dolls, clothes and much more, says Creative Hastings office administrator Lyn Mackie.

What makes the Bazaar extra special is that all the crafts and art work is made by local Hawke’s Bay artists and crafters, says Lyn.  “It’s good to be able to provide local and keep the money in the Bay.  Many people start coming in October asking when we are starting our sale and have it marked on their calendar.  They love being able to buy something that is generally unavailable throughout the year and made locally."

Established in 1995 to provide an outlet for local artists and crafters to sell their works to shoppers during the Christmas period, The Hawke’s Bay Arts and Crafts Christmas Bazaar has formed a devout following and many crafters and artists have their own devotees.

“Throughout the year we get customers wanting to know if the same artist, crafter or sculptor, whose work they purchased the year before, will have work available in this year’s Bazaar. Often the shopper wants another or a different design made by the same artist, which they saw at last year’s Bazaar.”

The Hawke’s Bay Arts and Crafts Christmas Bazaar will be open to the public from November 29 to December 24.  It will be open to the public from Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm, and Saturday from 10am to 4pm.  For more information please contact Arts Inc.
